These entries are public, so anyone who happens to stumble upon them can read them. For those of you who do not know me, I have a fatal illness. It's been killing me slowly for a little over 18 years now. There is nothing any doctor can do to slow it, but there are plenty of ways to augment it and speed it up. It's highly contagious. In fact, if you're reading this, chances are that you have it as well. There is no cure except its culmination: death.
I have life.Life is my fatal disease. Once it has begun, there's no stopping it until it reaches its end.
I have love.Love is one of the usual symptoms of life. It is what helps to spread the disease to the next generation (more often than not). I am doing my small part to stop it from continuing another generation, and thus saving my offspring from both life and the inevitable death. Love makes itself present in many forms.
The love between a parent and their child. This love is a constant reminder of the illness that they both share, the child because of the parent.
The love between siblings. This love is a sympathetic love. The children both realize that they are doomed from the same source and bond from that shared experience.
The love between friends. Another form of sympathetic love, friendship reaches out to others doomed from different sources, yet the same end.
And finally, the love of a couple. Most of the time, this is a selfish, vindictive love. Unhappy with the realization that they themselves are doomed, a couple will spread the disease to the next generation by procreating. More often than not, they succeed. However, there are some couples who fight the illness and stop it from spreading. These couples refuse to procreate, either by choice or medical issue or simply the fact that they are both of the same gender...
Life and love. Two main components of existence in the physical world. You cannot have one without the other. Indeed, life and love are interchangeable. Life
is love. To live is to love.
To live is to love. We are living creatures, therefore we are loving creatures. And just as we suffer in the physical world to gain eternal
life, we also gain eternal
love. Love never fails, and therefore,
life never fails.
